Françoise Biesse Debos discovered painting at an early age.
She trained at Mathieu Brouillet’s studio in Saint-Germain-en-Laye before attending the École des Beaux-Arts in Versailles and later joining the Vargas studio in Bougival.

From the very beginning of her career, she has been above all a colorist painter, profoundly influenced by the vibrancy of landscapes seen in the works of Gauguin, Cézanne, and Van Gogh. However, her painting goes beyond Impressionism, venturing into more abstract territories, much like Monet’s later works, which reflected his deteriorating vision and evolving perception of the world.

But make no mistake—Françoise Biesse Debos’s approach to vision is not about "seeing" in a literal sense, but rather about emotion.
Her painting takes on a deeply intimate dimension, capturing the vibrations felt in the contemplation of a landscape. Here, all the elements interact as sensory impressions—visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile—seized at the very moment of their disappearance. It is like a dream that gradually fades, leaving behind only a fleeting memory and impression. Each of her works is rooted in this ephemeral state, a moment that usually escapes us.
